Roger D. Allen's practice is characterized by a long history of focusing on Social Security Disability. While recent client reviews indicate some mixed experiences, public information and certain testimonials highlight key features of his practice:
- Exclusive Focus on Social Security Disability: For many years, his practice has been devoted exclusively to Social Security and Supplemental Security Disability matters. This specialization means a deep understanding of this specific, complex area of law.
- Extensive Experience: Licensed in Texas in 1978, Roger D. Allen has over 46 years of experience in law, with his Social Security Disability practice becoming exclusive within five years of attending a National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives conference in 1987. He has represented over 3000 individuals in disability matters.
- Commitment to Clients (Historical): One long-term client stated, "Roger Allen is one of the ones who cares. If you need help he’s one that will do extra and go the long way with you. He’s honest and committed," indicating a past history of dedicated advocacy and going above and beyond.
- No Fees Until Benefits Are Approved: The firm operates on a contingency fee basis for Social Security Disability cases, meaning clients do not pay attorney fees unless benefits are approved. This makes legal assistance accessible to those who are financially vulnerable due to disability.
- Active in Professional Organizations: He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives and the State Bar of Texas, demonstrating engagement with legal professional communities.
- Educational Contributions: Roger D. Allen has taught Social Security law to lawyers, judges, law students, and vocational rehabilitation counselors, which speaks to his recognized expertise in the field.
It is important for potential clients to consider both the long-standing positive aspects and the more recent feedback, which includes concerns about communication, perceived lack of advocacy in certain situations, and a potential reluctance to pursue cases deemed less winnable. These more recent reviews suggest that younger clients, in particular, may have had less favorable experiences regarding his approach and understanding of their circumstances.

Roger D. Allen, Attorney At Law, prominently advertises a significant benefit for individuals seeking Social Security Disability assistance: **Free Consultation** and **NO FEES UNTIL BENEFITS ARE APPROVED!** This is a standard and highly client-friendly practice in Social Security Disability law. The "no fees until benefits are approved" contingency fee structure means that clients do not have to pay anything upfront for legal representation. The attorney's fee is a percentage of the past-due benefits (back pay) that are awarded, and only if the claim is successful. This arrangement significantly reduces the financial risk for individuals pursuing disability claims, making legal help accessible regardless of their current financial situation. Potential clients are encouraged to utilize the free consultation to discuss their specific case details.

Helped me with my case years ago and got my social security started. Recently I’ve sent my son to him and I think he is just getting older and may have hearing problems because he disregarded a major situation that could have put my boy in harms way. However all is well. Roger Allen is one of the ones who cares. If you need help he’s one that will do extra and go the long way with you. He’s honest and committed.
Listened to my case, felt like he empathized with my situation, then, all the way up until my court appointment came up, the only thing he had done was help me get basic information. And when I actually GOT to court, he didn't say anything. Basically left me out to dry with practically ZERO advocation after I had waited almost a year and a half for the court appointment If he sees you as a losing case, it seems he'll represent you long enough to see how much of a chance you have, then when the chances look bleak, he taps out from the case - at least that's what it felt like He at one point tried to convince me to basically drop the case, and I had to ask him if he was actually trying to win, or if he was just going to keep trying to discourage me - which, in the end, he released me from his services not long after the court date, once I started doubting his efforts My assumption is because I'm on the younger end of the spectrum, since he started to talk to me like I didn't understand the circumstances and suggested I just, "Go mow some lawns" for a livable wage. Which, aside from being insulting, is disconnected from how the world has actually operated for a while now, and shows how surface level his knowledge/empathy is when dealing with the very people he's serving Long story short: Don't go here if you're young; he's old-fashioned and only fights for you if your case seems winnable. Don't know how he treats those who are elderly/older, but it's probably better than what I got
Roger was very dedicated to my case. I was denied on my 1st try and he fought for me! I had a bad horseback accident when I was 21. Suffered through 25 years of no insurance and no treatment plus I was a single mom and had to work. After 25 years of it I had to quit my job as I was spinning my wheels not making enough to pay my lease at the salon. Ended up with 2 back surgeries and suffer from weekly migraines and contant neck and back pain even after surgeries. A friend referred me to this man. So glad he did! I cried when I got that letter of award that I won my case thanks to Roger. At 46 I never thought I had a chance. Thank you Roger, you are AMAZING!!!!!
He doesn't want me to explained what exactly my situation. He kept asked different questions even is not in the form about my daughter ssi.
I was unable to walk for several years after an accident, and SSI kept denying me for disability over paperwork issues. Called him and in 3 months he had my disability approved.
