Features / Highlights

When considering a legal firm, understanding its distinct features and highlights can provide valuable insight into its operational style and client approach.

  • Experienced Attorneys: A positive review specifically highlights Courtney Smith as an "excellent attorney" who provided "excellent advice and counsel" and "great service." This suggests that the firm employs skilled legal professionals capable of delivering high-quality representation. The review also notes that Ms. Smith "out-performed the opposing lawyer," indicating strong advocacy.

  • Client-Focused Service (Varies by Experience): The positive review emphasizes the "level of service and expertise" provided, stating it was "outstanding." This indicates a potential commitment to client support and guidance throughout the legal process. However, it's crucial to acknowledge the second review, which describes a "horrific experience" and claims the firm was "only looking to take me and my ex husbands money." This review suggests a negative experience regarding communication, strategy, and perceived financial motivations. This stark contrast highlights that client experience can vary significantly, underscoring the importance of individual due diligence.

  • Strategic Representation (Varies by Experience): The positive feedback points to a firm that can "outperform the opposing firm," implying effective legal strategies and strong performance in legal proceedings. Conversely, the negative review alleges that a lawyer was "unprepared" and made "every attempt not to settle our case quickly, but draw it out," leading to a financially detrimental outcome for the client. This suggests that the quality and effectiveness of legal strategy can be perceived very differently depending on the specific attorney and case.

  • Professionalism: The positive review specifically mentions Courtney Smith as "very professional." Professionalism in legal representation encompasses ethical conduct, clear communication, and respectful interaction, all of which are critical for building trust and ensuring a smooth legal process.

Courtney Smith is an excellent attorney and the Hatcher Law Group is an awesome firm! Courtney was very professional, provided excellent advice and counsel through the entire process. I have continued to work with her even after my divorce on specific issues that have arisen and she has been there for me and provided great service. The level of service and expertise that Courtney provided me was outstanding. She definitely out-performed the opposing lawyer and the firm outperformed the opposing firm. The Hatcher Law Group and Courtney Smith are top performers in their profession. I wholeheartedly recommend both the firm and the attorney to anyone, except my adversaries.

This is now the second time I’ve try to provide potential/current customers, honest feedback on the horrific experiences I’ve had with this law firm. This all started when my husband decided to have an affair with another woman-younger of course. I found this firm online, and they were more than excited to take my case. Turns out, they were only looking to take me and my ex husbands money. (He’s a top surgeon). Gregory was unprepared and it turns out, made every attempt not to settle our case quickly, but draw it out. He told me my husband would pay for all legal fees. He lied-I had to pay for my own, as my allocation of assets was proven to be enough to pay the $500,000 in legal fees. I have to admit, I knew something was fishy when Gregory kept pushing out my meditation dates. He said if we kept pushing out, we could sue my ex husband for more money. He was completely wrong. I was only paying for him to abuse me. BEWARE: do not use this law firm without consulting another firm. Every firm I went to made it very clear that mr Hatcher did not have the professional integrity they would expect another professional in the field to have. Very disappointing experience. Please seek other counsel.

Paul DeJesse and his team saw me through a very complicated and messy family law issue that took many years to settle. To his credit (and my chagrin most days) Paul insisted that my paperwork submissions were accurate and relevant, which always proved to work in my favor both in and out of court. He was thorough, consistent and caring - listening to me rant when needed, letting me verbalize my frustrations. His mediation skills were very terrific, making sure I was aware of the possibilities and/or consequences in each step of the way. I would recommend him highly!

I had an exceptional child custody experience with Paul D., Alexa C, and Danielle. I was referred to Paul DeJesse by a friend who practices another law specialty. He referred to Paul as "a shark in the courtroom." After reviewing the 5-star reviews of the opposing counsel, I admit I was worried. I'm glad I followed through with a friend's advice. After further review, the opposing counsel's office practices many areas, not just family law. Those opposing counsel's 5-star reviews were for criminal court cases, not family law cases! Think about it as practicing medicine; you go to your primary care doctor for simple, ordinary illnesses. Eventually, you are referred to a specialist for the tough, onerous, complex cases. Paul DeJesse and Alexa Carini are the SPECIALISTS in FAMILY LAW. When you have your children at stake, you want someone to handle your case effectively, efficiently, and ingeniously. Paul, Alexa, and Danielle did just that! They guided me with expert precision from day one. I wasn't an easy client by any means. They fought this uphill battle for two years through the COVID pandemic and a high-conflict opposing party. They were upfront with me about the cost and the further expected/estimated cost from the first meeting. I knew going into this hellacious custody battle that the fight would cost me an arm and a leg, but luckily with Paul and Alexa on my team, it didn't cost me my children! You get what you pay for! Thanks Pauly D :)
