When seeking legal representation in Texas, selecting an attorney is a critical decision that often relies on trust, communication, and a clear understanding of the services provided. For residents of San Antonio, the Law Office of Enacio B. Barretto is a presence in the local legal landscape, offering services in areas such as family law (including divorce and custody), probate law, consumer law, bankruptcy, and criminal defense. This article aims to provide an overview of the Law Office of Enacio B. Barretto, including its location, reported areas of practice, and insights drawn from public client feedback. Understanding these elements can help Texans make informed choices when considering legal counsel.

The relationship between a client and their attorney is built on a foundation of confidence and effective communication. Clients expect their legal matters to be handled with diligence, responsiveness, and a clear path toward resolution. While the ideal experience involves a seamless process, reviews of legal services can vary widely, reflecting individual interactions and expectations. The feedback provided for the Law Office of Enacio B. Barretto offers a glimpse into some clients' experiences, highlighting aspects such as communication, timeliness of case progression, and outcomes.

One client expressed significant concern, stating, "My daughter is overseas and she is depending on a person to represent her in the issue that should be so simple and this lawyer is taking advantage of a mother of two he’s taking her money. He has not respond to any of her emails or messages that she sent him And she is trying to make sure that she gets things straight before she comes back here and this is something that most women should not have to go through, but as we see, we have people that just don’t care about others and their welfare and their well-being and their mental and what they’re going through. I will stay on this person‘s neck and I will report him to the Better Business Bureau. You will either help my daughter with her case or give her her money back." This review points to serious issues regarding responsiveness and client welfare.

Another client shared a similarly distressing account: "Mr Barretto you did a poor job representing my son in a divorce and custody case. Case opened in August 2021, and is not settled as of 2025. You offered no solutions to move things along with the court when spouse dropped her attorney. You were slow in returning calls, filing motions. After being promptly paid, as requested, you were away for extended periods of time. You advised we wait until your return or pay another attorney. You provided no alternative attorney to manage your case load. After, waiting years for you, the person we trusted with this case, you notified us that the divorce and temporary custody would be dismissed in days because it was outstanding. You ONLY notified me after I found another attorney. I am forced to start all over again and take multiple jobs to pay what I gave you in good faith.. The mother has left the state with the child, without notification. We have no idea where they are. Mr. Barretto you were a great disappointment. You took your fee and did not deliver and never offered any type of refund for your poor performance. My Family has not seen or heard from my granddaughter in months. You owe us for your failure to perform." This review describes significant delays, lack of progress, and critical communication failures, leading to severe negative consequences for the client's family.

It is important for potential clients to consider such feedback seriously as part of their decision-making process when choosing legal representation. While this article aims to be informative and factual, these provided reviews offer a direct perspective on specific client experiences with the Law Office of Enacio B. Barretto. Given the nature of these highly critical reviews, prospective clients should conduct thorough due diligence, which may include reviewing additional public information, consulting with multiple attorneys, and directly discussing expectations and communication protocols with any lawyer they consider hiring.

Barretto. Unlike some law firms that might highlight free initial consultations or contingency fee arrangements, such details are not made apparent in the provided data.

When evaluating the suitability of the Law Office of Enacio B. While the firm's physical presence in San Antonio and its reported practice areas (such as family law, probate, consumer law, bankruptcy, and criminal defense) suggest a potential alignment with common local legal needs, the provided client reviews raise significant concerns that prospective clients must carefully weigh.

The feedback highlights critical issues related to communication, timely case progression, responsiveness, and client welfare, with clients reporting substantial negative impacts on their cases and personal lives, including financial loss and extreme stress. These accounts indicate a deviation from the professional and supportive service that clients typically seek and deserve from legal counsel. Given these serious allegations of non-performance and lack of communication, the suitability of the Law Office of Enacio B. Barretto for locals appears to be highly questionable based on the provided data.

For any Texan seeking legal representation, especially in sensitive areas like family law where communication and diligent action are paramount, it is imperative to conduct thorough due diligence. This includes reviewing all available public information, seeking multiple consultations from different attorneys, and asking very direct questions about case management, communication policies, and fee agreements. The experiences shared in the reviews indicate that reliance on positive outcomes and consistent support may be a significant risk. Therefore, while the firm is located in San Antonio, its suitability for new clients cannot be recommended without a thorough and independent investigation into the concerns raised by prior clients. Texans are advised to exercise extreme caution and prioritize finding legal representation that demonstrates a clear commitment to client well-being, responsiveness, and effective case resolution.

I was seeking legal help with my divorce when I found Mr. Enacio online. He was great from the start and made the process easy for me. He answered any questions I had along the way and most importantly kept me updated. He is great to work with and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

If I could give this lawyer zero stars I would I came to him to be a divorce attorney. He drugged my case out for three years. He listened to the other side of the part of the divorce and changed my final decree according to what they want not what I want. I paid them. They didn’t pay them and now because he’s gone that case out so long my daughter has been kidnapped by her mother into a parental alienation is going rampant in my life and it’s all because he drugged this case out for so long and he tried to reassure me that he knew what he was doing, but it’s obvious at the end. He didn’t know what he was doing over $5000 spent and all I have is a big mess and I had to go get another lawyer. this lawyer is grossly negligent, and I am in a nightmare because of how he handle my divorce

I was surprised by my wife with a divorce. I started with another lawyer that was just going to take my money and slice the pie down the middle. I was not at all happy about that idea! I was referred to Mr. Barretto by a friend that he had represented in the past. He made no false promises just to do the best he could to see to it that my cheating spouse did not get what she had not earned or thought she deserved. It was a lengthy leagle battle but I am well happy with the outcome! My advice to you the reader be 100% honest with him and follow his instructions! Leave the fight to him and he will do what needs to done! Scott Kennedy
