  • Flat Fees: For certain services, a specified sum may be charged for handling the entire case or for completing a specific task (e.g., reviewing a contract, a court appearance). This provides cost predictability for clients.
  • Hourly Rate: The attorney charges a per-hour rate, tracking time in increments (often 10ths of an hour). This is common for cases where the duration and complexity cannot be precisely predicted.
  • Payment Plans: The firm may offer the flexibility of paying legal fees in installments, rather than requiring the full amount upfront. This can significantly alleviate the financial burden on clients.

It is crucial for prospective clients to understand that not all payment options are available for all cases, and any payment arrangement must be mutually agreed upon by the attorney and the client. For specific details regarding the fee structure that would apply to your unique legal situation, it is always recommended to contact the Law Offices of Judith K. Wemmert, P.C., directly to schedule a consultation. During this consultation, you can discuss your needs and clarify all aspects of the firm's fees and billing practices.

Mrs. Wemmert has done such an excellent job of representing me. She is a wonderful attorney who will go the extra mile if you allow her to. She's been my attorney for almost 5 years. I have zero regrets with choosing her to fight for my son and myself.

I paid a retainer to go after money I was due and she did nothing in the 4 months she had my money. It was only after 30+ phone calls and threatening to file a complaint with the state bar did she return my money and paperwork (along with a couple of someone else's documents too). I lost out on money for my son because of Judy. She is a GREAT talker and will make you believe in her, and then tear your heart out. SO DISSAPPOINTED. It's NEGATIVE stars for e really!

I hired Judy for my divorce in April of 2019 with the initial down payment of $500. Due to health insurance reasons we decided to stay married, so I didn't really pursue wanting a divorce till March of 2021. Mind you they never called to confirm this was the case the entire time. I was persistent in my calls from March 2021 to try to see an end to my divorce. I hadn't dated the whole time and was ready to put myself out there again and wanted to wrap it up before I did. I probably called once a week or more for updates, left messages every time for them to call back, and when I was returned a call was told that she was drafting it and really busy in court. By June and having heard nothing or gotten any documents, I decided to go down there to speak with someone. Me being a reasonable person and thinking that once you pay someone they will do what you ask them, so that is what I did. I payed her the rest of the balance $1,500, thinking she would do it right away. Right!? Not what happened. Judy did call me once right after I made the payment to ask about good times to go before the court and double check with what we had spoken about previously in our initial consult. She made a statement like "so I see you really want a divorce now!?" Because I had been so persistent in my calls. So by the end of December and still not divorced I decided to ask for my money back. I got a super quick response then with them saying they would refund me the money. I hired another attorney and he got me divorced in 2 weeks. I only received 1k back of my payment from Judy. I really wish I would not have paid her in June 2021. I should have known something like this would happen due to how difficult it was to get ahold of her, even after I was a client. Live and learn.
