Services Offered

  • VA Disability Claims: Assisting veterans with filing initial claims for service-connected disability compensation, ensuring all required documentation and evidence are properly submitted to the VA.
  • Appeals of Denied Claims: Representing veterans whose disability claims have been denied by the VA. This involves navigating the complex VA appeals process, including preparing and presenting arguments before the Board of Veterans' Appeals (BVA) or the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC).
  • Increased Rating Claims: Helping veterans pursue claims for increased disability ratings when their medical conditions have worsened since their initial rating, aiming to secure higher compensation.
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Claims: Providing specialized legal support for veterans seeking compensation for PTSD, including gathering necessary medical evidence and service records to establish a service connection.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Claims: Assisting veterans with claims related to Traumatic Brain Injuries, ensuring comprehensive evidence is presented to the VA for proper evaluation.
  • Individual Unemployability Claims: Representing veterans who are unable to maintain substantially gainful employment due to their service-connected disabilities, helping them secure a 100% disability rating based on individual unemployability.
  • Back Pay and Effective Date Issues: Advocating for veterans to receive the full amount of back pay they are owed, often by arguing for an earlier effective date for their benefits, which can result in substantial lump-sum payments.
  • Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC): Assisting surviving spouses and dependents of veterans who died as a result of a service-connected disability in obtaining DIC benefits.
  • Medical Nexus Opinions: Working with medical professionals to obtain nexus opinions that link a veteran's current medical condition to their military service, a crucial component for successful disability claims.
  • Evidence Gathering and Case Development: Meticulously collecting and organizing all necessary medical records, service records, lay statements, and expert opinions to build a strong and compelling case for benefits.

Through these focused services, Lieberman & Mark is dedicated to ensuring that veterans in Washington D.C. receive the full benefits they deserve for their sacrifices.

Features / Highlights

Lieberman & Mark distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that underscore its suitability as a legal advocate for veterans in Washington D.C.:

  • Exclusive Focus on Veterans' Law: A paramount feature is the firm's dedicated specialization in veterans' disability law. Unlike general practice firms, Lieberman & Mark concentrates solely on VA claims and appeals. This singular focus means their attorneys possess an in-depth, nuanced, and current understanding of the complex VA regulations, procedures, and legal precedents, which is crucial for successful outcomes.
  • Experience with Complex VA Appeals: The firm has a track record of handling intricate VA appeals, including those that progress to the Board of Veterans' Appeals (BVA) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC). This experience demonstrates their capacity to pursue claims rigorously through all levels of the VA system, even after initial denials.
  • Results-Oriented Approach: As evidenced by some client testimonials, the firm is noted for achieving significant positive outcomes, including securing 100% disability ratings and substantial back pay for veterans who had previously struggled to get their claims approved. This focus on tangible results is a major highlight for veterans seeking effective advocacy.
  • Understanding of VA Bureaucracy: The legal team at Lieberman & Mark is highly familiar with the specific administrative processes and bureaucratic hurdles within the VA. This understanding allows them to efficiently navigate the system, avoid common pitfalls, and prepare cases in a manner that aligns with VA requirements, helping to streamline the process for clients.
  • Compassionate and Client-Focused Service: Testimonials often emphasize the firm's professional, knowledgeable, and caring approach. This indicates a commitment to not only legal excellence but also to providing empathetic support to veterans through what can be an emotionally taxing process.
  • Free Initial Consultation: The availability of a free consultation makes it accessible for veterans to explore their legal options without financial commitment, allowing them to assess the firm's services and their case's potential before proceeding.
  • Nationally Recognized Service (Implied): While based in D.C., their testimonials span across various states (e.g., Florida, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico), suggesting that their reputation and services extend beyond local boundaries, offering confidence to D.C. veterans that they are receiving top-tier, specialized representation.

These features collectively highlight Lieberman & Mark's commitment to providing highly specialized, effective, and supportive legal services specifically tailored to the unique needs of the veteran community in Washington D.C.

Promotions or Special Offers

For veterans seeking legal assistance with their disability claims, Lieberman & Mark operates with a fee structure that aligns with the specialized nature of veterans' law and the regulations set by the Department of Veterans Affairs. While they do not offer traditional "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense, their approach is designed to make legal representation accessible and aligned with client success, reflecting key benefits:

  • Contingency Fee Basis: A significant advantage for veterans is that Lieberman & Mark generally works on a contingency fee basis for VA disability claims. This means clients typically do not pay attorney fees upfront. Instead, the firm only collects a fee if they successfully win or increase your benefits. The fee is usually a percentage of the back pay you receive, not a percentage of your future monthly benefits. This structure minimizes financial risk for veterans who may already be facing economic hardship.
  • Free Initial Consultation: As highlighted, the firm offers a complimentary initial consultation. This is a crucial "offer" as it allows veterans in D.C. to discuss their specific case, understand their eligibility, and explore potential strategies without any financial commitment. It provides an opportunity to evaluate the firm's expertise and determine the best path forward for their VA claim.
  • No Fee for Future Benefits: A common practice in veterans' law, and likely followed by Lieberman & Mark given their specialization, is that the attorney's fee is typically calculated only from the past-due benefits (back pay) that the veteran receives as a result of the successful claim. This means that once the back pay is disbursed and the attorney's fee is paid from it, the veteran receives their full monthly ongoing benefits without any further deductions for legal fees.

These features are not "promotions" in the commercial sense, but rather a standard and advantageous practice within veterans' law, providing financial security and peace of mind for clients. The firm’s commitment is to ensure that legal representation is not a barrier to deserving veterans obtaining the compensation they are due.

For veterans residing in Washington D.C., Lieberman & Mark stands out as an exceptionally suitable and vital legal resource. Their specialized focus and client-centered approach address the precise needs of those navigating the often-complex and frustrating Department of Veterans Affairs system.

Firstly, the firm's location at 729 15th St NW is a significant advantage for D.C. locals. Situated in a highly accessible downtown area, it's just steps away from major Metro stations, making it incredibly convenient for veterans across the District and the wider metropolitan area to access their legal services. The VA claims process is unique, requiring specific understanding of regulations, evidence requirements, and appeal procedures. They understand the nuances of the VA bureaucracy, which can be a lifeline for veterans who have faced repeated denials or slow progress.

Furthermore, the firm's client-friendly fee structure, primarily based on contingency, provides immense peace of mind. Veterans do not have to worry about upfront legal fees during what is often a financially challenging time. 6 years wasted with these CLOWNS ! About 2016 I hired these BOZOS, "we need more info" is All I every heard (they had EVERYTHING!)... By 2022 I was fed up! Got rid of them (crying babies, "we deserve $$$ for what we have done!"). NOTHING! They did NOTHING !!! Got local Lawyers here in Florida and within 11 MONTHS got a 20% increase in compensation, WITH NO FURTHER EVIDENCE SUBMITTED! Which means 'diligence' is a word Lieberman and Mark know nothing about. Not Only THAT! The C&P's are rolling in flood-like... I give them a star because it's mandatory...
