I didn't get past the consultation but I got off the phone feeling more stressed, anxious and depressed than I did before I called. I understand that you have to be forthright in telling me if I have a case or not, but it's not what you say, it's how you say it. Then I was told to come back 20 years later. I don't know if that was supposed to be a joke or not, but I didn't think it was funny. Now I feel more despondent about my disability case.

It was like walking into an abandoned law office from 1955. No secretary for the attorney and just a huge empty space with about 6 chairs. I understand that it's hard work to represent those seeking disability help, but they're actually not incredibly helpful. No one to take your calls, no one to speak to when you walk in. I went in with my dad to help him fight his disability claim and the attorney seemed to talk down to me UNTIL I mentioned to him that I'm a paralegal and understood the words he was saying. He's not necessarily rude, he is just churning the clients in and out as fast as possible and tossing their files on a shelf to deal with later.
