---Hadden & Moschkin focuses on providing legal representation in key areas, primarily serving individuals in need of legal defense. Based on available information and client reviews, their services prominently include:
-
Criminal Defense: This appears to be a strong area of practice for Hadden & Moschkin. One client specifically praised "Mr. Chris" (likely referring to Christopher G. Moschkin, the firm's founder) for successfully defending against "17 citations," leading to a positive outcome. This indicates experience in handling various types of criminal or traffic-related charges, from minor infractions to potentially more serious cases. Their website also highlights expertise in DUI/DWI practice, noting that "attorneys are incredibly respected in central Maryland for DUI and DWI practice." This suggests a strong command of the complexities of impaired driving cases.
-
Civil Cases (with noted limitations): While the firm has taken on civil cases, one extensive client review indicates that civil litigation might not be their strongest suit. This particular review details a challenging experience with a civil case that resulted in a loss at trial, with the client expressing dissatisfaction regarding preparation and trial performance. However, another public source highlights that in 2021, the firm "settled an undisclosed amount for a Jamaican immigrant client in Takoma Park against a multi-billion-dollar hedge-fund from Texas," suggesting they do achieve victories in some civil matters. This indicates they may engage in some civil disputes, but potential clients might want to inquire specifically about their success rates and approach to different types of civil cases.
-
Government Contracts/FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations): According to their public profiles, Hadden & Moschkin also possesses expertise in Government Contracts and FAR analysis and interpretation. This specialized area involves ensuring compliance with complex regulations governing government procurement, and providing guidance on regulatory compliance, policy development, and FAR education. While this may not be a service for the general public, it highlights a deep legal knowledge in a specific niche.
-
Small Business General Counsel: The firm also offers services aimed at providing "big law firm" quality general counsel services to small businesses at a local and affordable price. This indicates support for local enterprises in navigating legal complexities.
It is important for potential clients to clarify the firm's specific expertise and experience with their particular legal issue during an initial consultation.
---Based on available information and varying client experiences, several features and highlights can be attributed to Hadden & Moschkin:
-
Strong Performance in Criminal Defense: One glowing review specifically praises "Mr. Chris" for successfully defending against "17 citations" and achieving a "beautiful smile" for the client. This indicates a positive track record in handling criminal or traffic-related matters, suggesting effectiveness in this domain. Their website also notes "85+ DUI Cases Defended" and successful outcomes in DUI/DWI charges, with some cases resulting in dismissals or reduced pleas.
-
Commitment to Affordability and Beating "The Big Guys": The firm states its mission as providing "affordable, reliable, dependable legal representation on par with much more expensive lawyers and firms." They aim to "beat the big guys," suggesting a commitment to offering high-quality legal services at a more accessible price point for the local community.
-
Experienced Founder (Christopher G. Moschkin, Esq.): Christopher G. Moschkin, the founder, is recognized by peers and was selected to Rising Stars for 2024. He represents clients in both State and Federal Courts in Maryland, demonstrating a broad scope of practice. His success in a federal case against a "multi-billion-dollar hedge-fund" further highlights his capability.
-
Local Presence in Silver Spring: Being located in Silver Spring provides a local advantage, allowing the firm to be readily accessible to clients in Montgomery County and surrounding areas. This local focus can mean a better understanding of local court procedures and community nuances.
-
Varied Client Experiences: While positive experiences are noted, particularly in criminal defense, one detailed civil case review highlights significant dissatisfaction concerning preparation, trial strategy, and communication. This suggests that client experiences may vary depending on the case type and individual expectations. It's important for potential clients to review diverse feedback and have thorough discussions about case strategy.
-
Specialized Government Contracts Expertise: The firm's noted experience in Government Contracts and FAR analysis indicates a niche expertise that might be valuable for businesses or individuals involved in such specialized legal areas.
For legal services, direct "promotions" in the traditional retail sense are uncommon. Instead, law firms often offer specific arrangements for initial client engagement. While Hadden & Moschkin's public information does not explicitly state ongoing special offers, based on common practice for law firms, they likely provide:
-
Initial Consultations: Many law firms, including those focused on defense, offer initial consultations. This allows potential clients to discuss their case, understand the firm's approach, and evaluate if there's a good fit. The nature of these consultations (free or paid) should be confirmed directly with the firm. The "Thanks Mr. Chris the best I had even made as a Criminal prosecutor. I had 17 citations he defended all of them and I worked away with a beautiful smile đ. Please give her a try and see the magic." review suggests a positive outcome, potentially leading to strong referrals.
-
Contingency Fee Basis (for applicable cases): While not explicitly stated, personal injury or certain civil cases often operate on a contingency fee, meaning attorneys' fees are a percentage of the recovered settlement or award. However, for criminal defense, flat fees or hourly rates are more common. The civil case review mentioned a "pay you $700â$350 upfront... and the remaining $350 once we won" arrangement, which is a variation of a flat fee or success-based payment.
-
Competitive Pricing: The firm's stated mission to provide "affordable" legal representation on par with more expensive firms suggests a focus on competitive pricing, which can be seen as an ongoing value proposition for clients.
Maryland residents considering Hadden & Moschkin are strongly encouraged to contact the firm directly to inquire about their specific fee structure for different case types and any introductory policies they may have. Clarifying these details upfront is essential for managing expectations.

Wow! First off, I initially decided to leave just a 1-star rating because my husband and I were really frustrated with the service we received. Instead of addressing our concerns, you called me a liar. Can you please explain where I lied? Itâs incredibly disappointing that someone with a professional career would make accusations without any evidence or proof. Secondly, while you may not be the best at handling civil cases, our case was simple and straightforward. When you took on our case, we agreed that if we won, we would pay you $700â$350 upfront to take the case, and the remaining $350 once we won. During the first court visit, the judge dismissed the case because the other party didnât show up. The judge reviewed our evidence, saw that our case was clear, and ruled that, even though the other party didnât show up, they would still have to pay us. When we left the courtroom, you asked us to pay the remaining $350, and we assumed the case was over and won, so we paid you on the spot. However, shortly after, the other party decided to appeal, and the case was reopened. As our next court date approached, we called to confirm that you had everything you needed and to ask if you would be preparing us for trial. You assured us no further evidence was required and that we had already won the case, so we shouldnât worry. On the trial day, you kept going back and forth with the other party, asking if they wanted to settle before the trial. The other partyâs lawyer said they wanted to go to trial. This was the worst experience Iâve ever had with a lawyer. First of all, we had a completely different judge, and you didnât ask me any substantial questions. Your questions were very basic, like âWhatâs your name?â âDo you know this person?â âCan you explain why youâre here?â I expected much more from a lawyer. When the other party asked me questions, you just stood there watching instead of defending me or asking relevant questions. And when the judge asked if you had anyone else you wanted to question, you said no, even though I had asked you to question my husband. Even though we had all the evidenceâtext messages, emails, witnesses, and photosâthe other lawyer was more persuasive, and the judge ruled in their favor. After the trial, you advised us to take the case to Rockville because you know some judges there, but we told you we still wanted to stay in Silver Spring and appeal the case. I told you that you hadnât prepared properly, which is why we lost, and you agreed to appeal, assuring us you wouldnât charge any extra fees beyond the appeal costs and that you would get ready for the appeal. Then, you asked us to send more pictures, which we did the day we left the court. After that, we didnât hear from you for a while. As the deadline for the appeal grew closer, we reached out again. Do you remember what you said? You told us we had a beautiful wedding and a great life and advised us to forget about the case and move on. Seriously? After paying you $700, and you not even working on the case properly, you told us to forget about it instead of helping us prepare for the appeal? What kind of lawyer are you? All I can say is: DONâT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Do your research, and itâs always better to pay extra for a lawyer who actually knows their job. We learned our lesson the hard way.
Thanks Mr. Chris the best I had even made as a Criminal prosecutor. I had 17 citations he defended all of them and I worked away with a beautiful smile đ. Please give her a try and see the magic.
I Had a relatively simple case. So itâs no surprise that it was dismissed upon the first quarter appearance all I had to do was 20 hours worth of community service and now itâs over and done with within two months so it was fast speedy inconvenient service he stayed in contact with me the whole time Asking and answering any questions I had and providing me with what I would need to bring when and where . Overall, great service, nice and simple and a decent price.
HANDS DOWN BEST ATTORNEY FOR DUI/DWI IN MARYLAND. I had unfortunately got myself into a big mess of trouble, and if added all collectively, a TOTAL of 24 POINTS on my LICENSE. Mr. Moschkin did everything in his power to provide me all that was needed to not only HELP my case, but he personally worked with me to UNDERSTAND what was going on in my situation! For my cases, a DUI was one half of it, while the other was a PEDESTRIAN INJURY (failed to stop in time:/). Attorney Moschkin did AN AMAZING JOB of RETAINING my privilege to DRIVE still, REDUCING my sentences/probation time, MAJOR REDUCTION/WAIVED FINES (Over ATLEAST $1000+ SAVED/WAIVED) AFFORDABLE FEES, and RELIABLE! ---P.S: Mr. Moschkin is partnered/works with IntoxaLock, OFFERS HUGE DISCOUNTS FOR THIS DEVICE IF BREATHALYZER IS NEEDED! INCLUDING MONTHLY FEE REDUCTION!
Chris was very helpful, insightful, and fought for me. He is compassionate and seasoned with handling DUI cases. Due to his due diligence, he was able to get my case dropped! Iâm so happy that I took him on as my lawyer.đ¤
