Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP specializes primarily in personal injury and workers' compensation law, dedicating their practice to advocating for individuals who have been injured due to the negligence of others or in the course of their employment. Their comprehensive approach aims to help clients navigate the legal complexities and secure fair compensation for their damages. Based on publicly available information, their key practice areas include:
- Personal Injury Law: This broad category covers a wide array of incidents where individuals suffer harm due to another party's fault. Specific types of personal injury cases they handle include:
- Car Accidents: Representing victims involved in various types of motor vehicle collisions, including cars, trucks, and motorcycles, to claim compensation for injuries, vehicle damage, and other losses.
- Slip and Fall Accidents (Premises Liability): Assisting individuals who have sustained injuries due to hazardous conditions on someone else's property, such as wet floors, uneven surfaces, or poor lighting.
- Medical Malpractice: Handling cases where individuals have been harmed due to the negligence of healthcare professionals, including misdiagnosis, surgical errors, birth injuries, and pharmacy errors.

This approach aims to make legal representation accessible to those who might otherwise be unable to afford it.
Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP highlights several features that underscore their commitment to clients and their standing within the Maryland legal community. While some client reviews indicate areas for improvement in communication, the firm's overall profile and stated mission point to specific strengths:
- Extensive Experience: The firm boasts "over 100 years of collective experience" in personal injury law. This significant cumulative experience among its attorneys suggests a deep understanding of the intricacies of injury claims, workers' compensation cases, and related legal procedures in Maryland.
- Contingency Fee Basis: A major highlight for potential clients is their contingency fee structure for personal injury cases. This means that clients do not pay attorney fees unless the firm wins their case, making legal representation accessible to individuals regardless of their immediate financial situation. This commitment removes a significant barrier to justice for many injured individuals.
- Multiple Office Locations: With offices in Baltimore, Frederick, Hagerstown, and Salisbury, Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP ensures broad geographic accessibility across Maryland. This network of offices caters to a wider client base, making it more convenient for individuals throughout the state to seek their legal services.

- Recognized in the Community: The firm has been recognized as one of Maryland's leading workers' compensation firms by The Baltimore Sun, which indicates a strong reputation and recognition within the legal field and local media.
It's important for prospective clients to engage directly with the firm to discuss their case and personal expectations regarding communication and case management, particularly in light of some client feedback.
Like many professional legal service providers, Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP does not typically advertise traditional promotional offers or special discounts. The value of legal services in personal injury and workers' compensation cases is tied to the specialized expertise, the dedication to achieving favorable outcomes, and the comprehensive support provided throughout the legal process.
However, a key "offer" that is standard practice for the firm and highly beneficial to clients is their contingency fee arrangement for personal injury cases. This means that clients are not required to pay upfront legal fees. Instead, attorneys' fees are contingent upon the successful resolution of the case, typically a percentage of the settlement or court award. If the firm does not secure compensation for the client, the client generally owes no attorney fees.
Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP also offers free initial consultations. This allows prospective clients to discuss their case with an attorney without any obligation or upfront cost. During this consultation, you can explain your situation, ask questions about the legal process, and learn about the potential strategies for your case. This is an excellent opportunity to assess whether the firm is the right fit for your needs before committing to representation.
For specific details regarding their contingency fee structure, consultation policies, or any case-specific cost considerations, it is always recommended to contact Ingerman & Horwitz, LLP directly. Their approach is designed to make quality legal representation accessible to those who need it most, focusing on results rather than upfront financial burdens.

I was involved in an auto accident back in October. The first two months i can say Tremayne Tillman was very social and always kept me update on my case however I feel like once I completed my physical therapy I wasn’t in the loop on what’s happening with my case. I was informed very late that he didn’t receive my ambulance bill so I had to go out my way to receive that. Which I was okay with doing that, anything to make sure my case keeps moving forward. Email him again about any updates and he did not respond to me or call. I feel like I’m out of touch with my own case. I never thought this will take so long it’s June now and I’m a teacher been going back and forth to work since October! Without a car been using Uber so you can imagine how much money I’m kicking out. I’m never a type of person to complain but this whole thing is so long winded and slowly losing my patience with it. I just wish I was kept in the loop with my own case.
**** ON BEHALF OF MY MOTHER**** I have a workers compensation case that Bruce Ingerman represented me in and the paralegal is Barry. I have been trying for five years to get treatment without any help. Barry advised me to use my personal insurance for treatments which I did until I ran out of coverage and money. I kept calling and emailing with basically no response until I went down to their office last year and spoke with the receptionist who guaranteed Barry would return my call. She did but gave me the same story waiting for adjuster. I called and spoke with Bruce since Barry was doing nothing and he advised me to come in as I was running out of time for worker’s compensation to cover my treatments. I scheduled an appointment with him for that same week. Can you believe I went to the appointment and Mr Ingerman did not see me. Barry spoke to me and informed me Bruce was busy with a new client but she was still working on getting the authorization. She sent me to the doctor who recommended treatment and imaging. I am still waiting for the authorization to get these done. Barry claims inability to reach adjuster and usually does not return calls, emails or text messages. I am unable to work and constantly in pain but it seems Barry and her company does not care about those they represent. Professionally I ensured others where treated as humans and helped them on their road to recovery. Now to be treated this way is simple inhumane. It’s been five years of constant pain and feelings of desperation at the hands of Bruce and Barry. I am sorry I chose this company to represent me.
Terrible customer service, case was dropped for no reason, and the lawyers are incompetent. Whoever works at the front desk hung up on me three times for no reason, and I never received any call backs or follow up emails. Do not use them!
Wow!!!! Where to start? I guess we can start off by saying I’ve been waiting 5 years for this law firm to settle an on the job accident claim!! Because of their incompetence I had to go back to see their doctor and get a second evaluation and I have pay for it. They will not keep you informed about your own case or return phone calls. I’ve turned on some co-workers and friends to this firm and now they are upset with me because the way they are being treated!! Will never recommend this firm to anyone again!! Think about this they are getting paid to treat us like this!!!!! Will keep you advised of outcome if there is one!! Did get a call back today after posting this do feel a little better about things!!!
My family and I were introduced to the I&H team of attorneys about 10 years ago. From that first introduction until now, we have contacted them for every PI or Worker’s Comp case that any member of my family or I have required representation for. They have been consistent with their results. They fight for our awards as if we were family. Carolyn Johnson has always gone above and beyond to keep me informed of the direction of my cases but none more than through the shut-down via the pandemic. If it was after-hours or Saturday’s, she made sure that I knew what was going on! I love this group! If you need smart, talented and formidable representation, contact the team at I&H!! ASK FOR CAROLYN JOHNSON!!!
