McAdoo Law Group, PLLC, presents several features and highlights that are designed to serve clients in North Carolina, though it's important to consider client feedback in conjunction with these:

  • Diverse Practice Areas: The firm offers a wide range of services, including civil litigation, real estate, nursing home abuse, wills/estates, and guardianship. This breadth can be convenient for clients with varied legal needs.
  • Client-Centric Philosophy: The firm states a commitment to providing an "optimal level of advocacy with tenacity and poise" and taking a "holistic approach" to representation, which includes connecting clients with resources beyond just legal solutions (e.g., substance abuse and mental health resources).
  • Experienced Real Estate Team: At least one strong positive review specifically highlights their excellence in real estate closings, calling the firm "the BEST" due to their responsiveness, knowledge, efficiency, and genuine care in getting good results for clients in this area.
  • Charlotte-Based and Forward-Thinking: Located in uptown Charlotte, the firm identifies itself as "forward-thinking and progressive," aiming to mirror the city's dynamic nature.
  • Virtual Consultation Options: In response to current needs, the firm emphasizes offering video and phone meetings as primary methods of communication, enhancing convenience and safety for potential and existing clients.
  • Emphasis on Advocacy: The firm's stated vision focuses on advocating for clients and fostering the best possible outcomes for their cases.

It's crucial for potential clients to balance these stated aims and positive feedback (particularly for real estate services) with the negative review provided, which raises concerns about communication, legal strategy guidance, and empathy, especially in sensitive elder care and guardianship matters. This suggests a varied experience for clients depending on the specific area of law and attorney.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a professional legal services provider, McAdoo Law Group, PLLC, like most law firms, generally does not offer traditional "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. Legal fees are typically structured to reflect the complexity of the case, the attorney's expertise, the time invested, and the specific services required.

However, it is a standard practice for the firm to offer initial consultations. As stated on their website, they "continue to accept consultations and meetings with clients through virtual platforms," and invite potential clients to "Schedule a consultation with us today!" This initial consultation provides a vital opportunity for prospective clients in North Carolina to discuss their legal matter, outline their concerns, and determine if McAdoo Law Group is the right fit for their needs. During this session, the attorneys can assess the situation, provide preliminary insights, and discuss the potential legal processes and associated fee structures. While the provided negative review mentions a paid consultation that resulted in dissatisfaction, the general practice of offering consultations remains a key first step for engaging legal services.

For those considering their services, particularly given the mixed reviews, it is highly recommended to clarify the consultation fee and what can be expected from the consultation before proceeding. Transparency in fee agreements and clear communication regarding the scope of the initial meeting are important.

Attorney M Mcadoo has now wasted a total of $500 on consultations with this attorney, and I can say without hesitation that it was a complete waste of money and time. In 2023, I initially contacted this attorney regarding a workers’ comp/retaliation claim, which I ultimately handled and closed myself under a 90-day Right to Sue letter — because the attorney never followed up and had to be reminded about the case when he did respond. In 2025, I came back to this attorney for an urgent and serious matter regarding my 84-year-old great-aunt, who is now in an unsafe discharge situation from Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. I was forced to obtain Court-Ordered Guardianship after the hospital banned me as her closest advocate and has consistently blocked access to full medical information, records, and discharge planning — all while her condition has significantly worsened (documented by APS, DHHS, and myself). During this paid consultation, the attorney asked me multiple times “what do you want me to do” — as if I, the client, should be responsible for designing the legal strategy. I paid for legal expertise — not to be asked what legal remedies I needed, which is exactly what I was paying to be advised on. Most disturbingly, the attorney actually said: “Why not just let her go to the facility? You don’t really need to know the exact reason. And if she’s perishing, that’s the best place for her.” This statement is absolutely unacceptable. I am the Court-Appointed Guardian — it is my legal duty to know her condition and needs before agreeing to placement. The attorney entirely dismissed that obligation and treated it like an annoyance, despite me documenting: No proper discharge plan No PT/OT clearance No wound care plan Medications called in without consent APS and DHHS both unable to obtain proper records My own legal right to participate in the discharge plan being blocked by the hospital Rather than supporting my position or offering strong legal action to stop an unsafe discharge, the attorney suggested I should simply let the process go forward blindly — with no clinical picture and no protection for my loved one. Frankly, I should never have spent another dollar here. This consultation was a complete waste of money, and this attorney clearly does not understand or prioritize protecting vulnerable patients or standing up for Guardians in complex healthcare cases. If you are in a situation involving elder care, Guardianship, unsafe hospital discharges, or patients’ rights violations, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. This firm provided no meaningful assistance, asked me what I wanted done (when they should know the law), and in the end offered the worst possible advice — to simply let an unsafe discharge proceed without proper documentation. Complete waste of money, extremely disappointed. Would not recommend!
