Central Avenue is a major thoroughfare, making the office straightforward to locate for those traveling by car.

For residents relying on public transportation, Charlotte's CATS bus routes likely serve the Central Avenue corridor, offering connectivity to other neighborhoods and parts of downtown. It's always advisable to check current bus schedules and routes for the most precise public transport options. For those driving, there are typically on-street parking options or nearby public lots in the Plaza Midwood area, although availability can vary depending on the time of day. Roberts & Richmond PA focuses its legal services primarily on criminal defense and traffic law, catering to individuals facing various charges and infractions in North Carolina. Their offerings are designed to provide comprehensive support through the legal process.

  • Traffic Offenses: The firm handles a wide range of traffic-related issues, from minor violations to more serious charges. This includes:
    • Speeding Tickets: Assisting clients with contesting speeding citations to minimize points on their license and potential insurance rate increases.
    • Driving While License Revoked/Suspended: Representing individuals charged with driving without a valid license or while their license is suspended, working to address the underlying issues and restore driving privileges.
    • DWI/DUI Defense: Providing defense for individuals accused of driving while impaired, a serious charge that carries significant penalties in North Carolina.
    • Reckless Driving: Handling charges related to reckless driving, which can result in significant fines and license points.
    • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Violations: Representing commercial drivers to protect their livelihood from violations that could jeopardize their CDL.
  • Criminal Defense (Misdemeanors and Felonies): Roberts & Richmond PA offers legal representation for various criminal charges, aiming to protect clients' rights and futures. Their services in this area include:
    • Assault Charges: Defending individuals accused of assault, from simple assault to more aggravated forms.
    • Drug Offenses: Representing clients facing charges related to drug possession, distribution, or manufacturing.
    • Theft and Property Crimes: Handling cases involving shoplifting, larceny, breaking and entering, and other property-related offenses.
    • Domestic Violence: Providing defense for individuals accused of domestic violence, often involving sensitive and complex family dynamics.
    • Expungements: Assisting eligible individuals with clearing certain criminal charges or convictions from their records, allowing for a cleaner slate. This is particularly relevant for dismissed cases or first-time offenses under specific North Carolina statutes like the 90-96 program or the Second Chance Act.
  • Estate Planning: While their primary focus is criminal and traffic law, public information also indicates that Roberts & Richmond PA offers services in estate planning, which typically includes drafting wills, trusts, and other documents to manage assets and provide for loved ones. This suggests a broader capacity to assist clients with personal legal needs beyond defense.
  • Business Formation: Public information also indicates an offering in business formation, which would involve assisting clients with the legal steps required to establish a new business entity in North Carolina.

Roberts & Richmond PA aims to distinguish itself through several key features and highlights, though client experiences can vary.

  • Location in Central Charlotte: Their office on Central Avenue offers a convenient and accessible location for clients throughout Charlotte and the wider Mecklenburg County area, making it easier for individuals to attend consultations and court preparations.
  • Focus on Criminal and Traffic Law: While they list other services like estate planning and business formation, their primary public-facing emphasis and client feedback often pertain to criminal defense and traffic cases. This suggests a concentrated effort in these specific, high-demand areas of law for North Carolina residents.
  • Experience with First-Time Offenses: One client review highlights assistance with a "first-time offense," which is a common scenario in North Carolina criminal and traffic courts. The firm's ability to navigate such cases and achieve positive outcomes for new offenders is a valuable aspect of their service. North Carolina has various programs, like conditional discharge (e.g., 90-96 program for drug offenses) or deferred prosecution, which can lead to dismissal for eligible first-time offenders.
  • Commitment to Communication: One positive review specifically praises the firm's "communication," indicating an effort to keep clients informed and engaged throughout their legal process, which is a crucial element for client satisfaction during stressful times.
  • Understanding of Local Court Procedures: As a Charlotte-based firm, they are inherently familiar with the local court systems, prosecutors, and judicial processes in Mecklenburg County, which can be beneficial for navigating cases efficiently within the North Carolina legal framework.

It is important to note that public reviews offer mixed perspectives. While one client expressed significant appreciation for assistance with a first-time offense, praising the communication and commitment, another client's review indicated dissatisfaction regarding perceived knowledge gaps about specific dismissal programs for felony cases and a lack of certainty in outcome predictions. This highlights the importance of thorough initial consultations to ensure alignment on case strategy and expected outcomes, especially when considering the nuances of North Carolina's various diversion and expungement programs.

Roberts & Richmond PA does not publicly list specific promotions or special offers. Legal services are typically provided on a case-by-case basis, with fees determined by the complexity of the case, the time involved, and the specific legal services required.

For individuals in North Carolina considering legal representation, it is standard practice to inquire directly with the firm about their fee structure during an initial consultation. This allows for a clear understanding of the costs associated with your specific legal matter, whether it's a traffic ticket, a criminal defense case, or an estate planning need. While no "promotions" are advertised, a firm's value often lies in its ability to achieve favorable outcomes, provide clear communication, and manage cases efficiently, which can translate into cost-effectiveness over the long term for the client. Potential clients are encouraged to contact Roberts & Richmond PA to discuss their unique situation and to receive a clear outline of the potential legal fees and how the firm approaches billing for its services.

At first i was thinking this was the best lawyer to get because of all the great reviews they have on here. I was greatly mistaken, this is a firm that needs the money from the looks of it. I've paid them most of my balance of $1500 but before i started paying them i asked if getting a lawyer was the best option, not knowing there's certain programs and services that throw lawyers and attorneys out the window like they don't even exists. As PA, or a public defender, they should know the law. A POLICE officer called me asking if my public defender or my attorney (if i had one) had talked to me about a program that can fully dismiss my case. When i asked Roberts and Richmond p.a. about it they acted as if they knew nothing about the program. So either they don't know too much about felony cases and solutions or they literally just take your money first just to see if they can help you. When i ask them about how sure they were about my case getting thrown out it was always a "we should be able to" or "maybe", nothing was ever "for sure" which isn't really positive cause you're going in there with so much uncertainty. I do not recommend them.
