Services Offered

Based on the provided information and the nature of "Urgent Tax Help," this accounting service primarily focuses on assisting individuals and businesses with resolving various tax-related issues and preparing tax documents. While specific service categories can vary, their offerings appear to revolve around:

  • Tax Resolution Services: This typically involves helping clients address outstanding tax debts, penalties, and interest with state and federal tax authorities (such as the IRS). This can include negotiating payment plans, offers in compromise, or addressing tax liens and levies. The term "tax resolution" suggests a focus on mitigating severe tax problems.

  • Assistance with Obtaining Tax Returns: As indicated by customer feedback, a reported initial service involves attempting to retrieve past tax returns from state and federal agencies. This is a common requirement when clients need to understand their historical tax obligations or rectify past filings.

  • Amended Tax Returns: The firm reportedly offers services for amending previously filed tax returns. This is necessary when errors or omissions are discovered in original filings, or when new information becomes available that impacts past tax liabilities.

  • Tax Return Preparation (for New Returns): In addition to addressing past issues, it appears they also offer services for preparing and filing current tax returns, ensuring compliance with ongoing tax obligations.

  • Dealing with Tax Authority Correspondence: Clients often seek help when they receive letters or notices from the IRS or state tax departments. Services would likely include interpreting these communications and formulating appropriate responses.

Features / Highlights

When considering Urgent Tax Help, it's important to look at the reported features and experiences to form a complete picture.

  • Focus on "Urgent" Tax Problems: As the name suggests, the service appears to be geared towards individuals and businesses facing immediate or pressing tax issues, such as those needing help with unfiled returns, existing tax debt, or responding to tax authority notices. This implies a readiness to address critical situations that may require quick attention.

  • Initial Consultation/Assessment (Reported "Step 1"): Based on customer reviews, the service seems to begin with an initial phase, described as "Step 1," which involves an assessment or attempt to gather necessary documentation like prior tax returns from federal and state agencies. This suggests a structured approach to understanding the client's tax situation before proposing broader resolution strategies.

  • Dedicated to Tax Resolution: The emphasis on "tax resolution" services suggests that they aim to help clients find pathways to reduce or manage their tax liabilities, potentially through negotiation with tax authorities. This can be a key service for those overwhelmed by tax debt.

Important Considerations from Customer Reviews: It is crucial for potential clients to be aware of the experiences shared by past customers, as these provide direct insights into the operational aspects of the service.

  • Communication Issues: Multiple reviews highlight concerns regarding communication, with customers reporting a lack of responsiveness after initial inquiries or payments, and difficulty getting direct answers to questions.

  • Service Delivery Concerns: One review indicates that "Step 1" services, such as obtaining tax returns, were reportedly unsuccessful or not confirmed by tax authorities, contrary to what the client was told.

  • Billing and Refund Issues: There are reports of clients being charged double for services, and promises of refunds not being fulfilled. Additionally, quoted prices for resolution services appear to be substantial.

  • Focus on Contract Signing: A customer mentioned that multiple people contacted them primarily to get contracts signed, rather than to address their specific questions or provide detailed updates.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided information, Urgent Tax Help does not advertise specific "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense, such as discounts on services. Instead, their business model appears to involve an initial upfront fee for an assessment or preliminary work ("Step 1"), followed by potentially significant costs for ongoing tax resolution or preparation services.

As highlighted in customer reviews, there were instances of initial payments, and then further, substantial costs quoted for full tax resolution or amending returns. This indicates a tiered service model where initial fees cover preliminary work, with comprehensive solutions incurring additional, higher charges. Prospective clients should anticipate this structure and seek clear, detailed explanations of all fees and service scopes before committing to any engagement. It is always prudent to request a written estimate and understand the full financial commitment involved.

I am giving a 1 star review due to the fact that I was charged double for the services to prepare my 2018 taxes. When I first inquired about it I was told they had mistaken me for another client and would receive a refund for the over charge. I never received a refund. I have tried to reach out to the company on multiple occasions in regards to this since and they have been completely unresponsive.
